The Tussar Silk weaving Industry in India is more than a century old.
Tussar silk is produced by silk worms living in the wild forests of north India.
This silk is valued for its rich texture and natural deep gold colour. The cocoons are dried in the sun before the silk is spun.
Tussar silk is considered more textured than other cultivated forms of silk such as mulberry as it has shorter fibres and a beautiful, natural sheen.
