Description

Modal is a cellulose fibre derived from the wood pulp of beech trees, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional fabrics. Often referred to as "Vegan Silk," Modal was first developed in the 1950's in Japan and is celebrated for its luxurious softness and silk-like drape.

This breathable fabric is 50% more absorbent than cotton, making it perfect for moisture-wicking garments. Modal is also colourfast, shrink-resistant, and has a natural stretch, providing durability and versatility for a wide range of uses, from casual wear to elegant draped pieces. Its soft texture and effortless flow make it an ideal choice for comfortable and stylish clothing.

Care Guide

Gentle Machine Wash or Hand Wash: Modal is durable and can be washed in a gentle machine cycle using cold water and a mild detergent. For delicate items, hand washing is a great alternative.

Avoid Bleach or Harsh Chemicals: Harsh detergents and bleach can weaken the fibres and damage the silky texture of Modal, so always opt for gentle, fabric-friendly cleaning agents.

Air Dry or Tumble Dry on Low: For best results, air dry your Modal garments flat or hang them in the shade to preserve their shape and colour. If using a dryer, select a low-heat setting to avoid shrinking.

Cool Ironing if Necessary: Modal resists wrinkles, but if ironing is needed, use a low-heat setting. A pressing cloth can be used to protect the fabric’s soft, silky finish.

Store Properly: Store Modal clothing in a cool, dry place. Fold or hang them neatly to avoid creases, and keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
